Aaditya Pratap Sanyal received his B. Arch degree from Aayojan School of Architecture, Jaipur (affiliated to University of Rajasthan) in the year 2007. He completed his M. Tech in Building Science and Technology from IIT Roorkee in the year 2009. After completing his post graduation, he worked in various positions at renowned organizations (2009-2013):

  • Lecturer, Aayojan School of Architecture, Jaipur – July 2009 to November 2010.
  • Asst. Manager (Green Buildings), LEAD Consultancy and Engineering Services (India) Private Limited (LCES), Bangalore – December 2010 to January 2011
  • Senior Architect, EDRC, Larsen and Toubro, Chennai – February 2011 to March 2012
  • Designer, AWA Lighting Designers Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi – May 2012 to May 2013

With a variety of experience from academics and the industry, he joined the Department of Architecture and Regional Planning at IIT Kharagpur to pursue his PhD in July 2013. He submitted his Doctoral Thesis in July 2018. He defended his Thesis in July 2019. From August 2018 to February 2020, he taught post graduate students at the National Institute of Construction Management and Research, Pune (NICMAR, Pune) as Assistant Professor. He joined the Department of Architecture, Planning and Design, IIT-BHU in February 2020. As an architect, he has also designed and overseen the execution of several residential and commercial projects.

His research interests include Construction Management, High-rise Design and Construction, Construction Delay Analysis, Machine Learning, Energy Efficient Design, Daylighting, Shading, Building Services, and Climatology.
