Nitai (He/Him/His) works as an assistant professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering & Technology at IIT (BHU), Varanasi. He completed his direct Ph.D. in chemical engineering from IIT Kharagpur in 2020 after receiving his B.Tech. in chemical engineering from NIT Durgapur in 2013. During his doctoral study, Nitai focused on the large-scale, economical production of 0D, 1D, and 2D copper nanostructures for nanofluids applications. A postdoctoral fellowship from the institute funded his postdoctoral work from 2020 to 2022 at IIT Madras.

Nitai spent his first 24 years of life in Durgapur, West Bengal, where he was born and reared, until relocating to Kharagpur in 2014. In March 2022, he arrived in Varanasi (Banaras), one of India's most ancient and culturally rich cities, after spending 1.5 years in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

You can locate his office on the ground floor of the Department, besides the Chemical Engineering Laboratory (Workshop/Fluid mechanics/Heat transfer lab).
