Dr. Om Jee Pandey is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics Engineering, IIT (BHU), Varanasi. Prior to joining IIT (BHU), he was working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, SRM University AP, Andhra Pradesh. He worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Canada under the guidance of Prof. Ha H. Nguyen after completion of his Ph.D. Program. He also worked as a research fellow with Prof. Rajesh M. Hegde in Wireless Sensor Networks Lab (ACES-204) at IIT Kanpur during January 2019 to May 2019. As a part of educational qualification, he completed his Ph.D. Degree in January 2019 from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IIT-K), India. He received his M.Tech. Degree in Digital Communication from ABV-Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management, Gwalior, India, in 2013. He obtained his B.Tech. Degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow, India, in 2008.
 
His research interest lies in the signal processing and communications for wireless networks, with specific focus on robust sensor node localization and tracking over wireless ad-hoc networks. He also works on related areas like network lifetime maximization, energy harvesting, network robustness, low-latency and energy-balanced data transmission, time synchronization, data fusion, data aggregation, autonomous node fault detection, and distributed detection and estimation in wireless sensor networks. Additionally, he also works in the areas of Low-Power Wide Area Networks (LPWANs), UAV-Assisted Edge and Fog Networks, Visible Light Communication (VLC), Cyber Physical Systems (CPS), Internet of Things (IoT), and Physical Layer Wireless Communications. Research Project (Under Progress)

  1. Design and Development of Cognitive Small-World LPWANs for Internet of Things towards Health Monitoring, Sponsored by SERB, DST, India under Start-up Research Grant (SRG) - for Rs. 30.11 Lakh, January 2022 - January 2024 (Principal Investigator).

Looking for highly motivated graduates to work in the area of Signal Processing, Communications, and Networking. In general, the candidates will explore the areas of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs), Low-Power Wide Area Networks (LPWANs), and Edge and Fog Networks towards their applications in Cyber Physical Systems (CPS), Internet of Things (IoT), and Context-aware Pervasive Systems. In particular, the candidate will explore social network models for the development of various network services in the context of sensor node localization, network lifetime management, energy-harvesting, time synchronization, low-latency and energy-balanced data transmission, bandwidth efficient network development, and distributed detection and estimation among other quality-of-service issues. Additional, research areas which can be explored by the candidate are machine learning based UAV-Assisted wireless networks, 5G-mm Wave for IoT applications, Visible Light Communication (VLC), and Physical Layer Wireless Communication.
