2. Major Research Achievements
- Dynamic strain ageing at room temperature in Zircaloy-2 was reported for the first time.
- The Development of Corduroy structure resulting from cyclic loading in Zircaloy-2 was observed for the first time at room temperature.
- Rosette tensile fracture in modified 9Cr-1Mo steel specimens was reported.
- Dynamic Strain ageing of Zircaloy-2 under Asymmetric loading at 400oC was reported for the first time.
- Also, contributed to the understanding of: phase transformations and tensile behaviour at different temperatures of high nitrogen steels and modified Cr-Mo steel; the effects of surface nano crystallization on low cycle fatigue behaviour of Al alloys and Superalloys; low cycle fatigue and ratcheting fatigue behaviour of Zircaloy-2 and modified Cr-Mo steel at different temperatures; Effect of hot corrosion on tensile and LCF behaviour of Superalloy IN 617.
